Doha Rocks, the cafe cum restaurant at the old airport (literally and technically) traffic signal on D-ring road is opening a branch soon at Barwa village, the work has been going on for some time.... a bird told me they are getting a chef from kerala... This could mean they are shifting a little to South Indian Cuisine...
As of now they are most well known for their yummy biriyani, which is very different from the usual south Indian biriyani you get at most joints... esp mutton biriyani... try it out on Friday afternoon, it’s really yummy.
Chicken is not bad on certain days and good on some days... the pickle they give along the biriyani is awesome, last week it didn’t live up to the usual quality, but most days they are very good.
Someone told me their fish biriyani is also good, but never got a chance to try as it’s not available on most days... it all depends on the day's catch I guess.
The place is very casual and bright and open 24hrs.. they have some nice sandwiches, nothing out-of-the-world, but good ones...
The decor is very catchy and I think they have free wifi, not sure will check next time....
And yes, during the barbeque season you can request them to give you marinated meat, save time and the stuff is a little pricey than supermarket, but better in taste.
