Now you have a chance to taste one of the most famous
dishes in the world - Black Cod in Miso by Chef Nobu - right here in Doha. Giving
a fillip to the food scene in Doha, Chef Nobuyuki “Nobu” Matsuhisa opened
26,000 square-foot contemporary restaurant Nobu Doha, his largest outlet in the
world, at the Four Seasons Hotel Doha on Arpil 17.
Other than his most known Black Cod Miso, the menu have ‘new-style Japanese’ dishes like the Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno and
Lobster with Wasabi Pepper Sauce.
How much will a meal cost is not known yet as I am still waiting for a free invite ;-) ... But it will surely be on the higher side as the deadly combo of a celebrity chef and a five-star hotel usually have a draining effect on the wallet.
Multiple Michelin star winner Chef Nobu is no stranger
to Qatar as Qatar Airways has been serving some of his signature dishes in
business and first class as part of their Culinary Ambassadors programme.
After completing a rigorous apprenticeship at a sushi
bar in Tokyo, Nobu took off to South America - first in Peru and then in
Argentina. There he fused his traditional Japanese style with local ingredients
and came out with the much celebrated Nobu Style. Because of this some pure
bred Japanese chefs consider Nobu as more of an American chef than a Japanese
one.
Nobu currently has 32 restaurants in 28 different
cities around the world, spanning across five continents.
The circular three-story
restaurant resembles an ornate coiled shell. The dining and lounge spaces include
a 134-seat interior dining area; 10-seat sushi counter; two
private dining rooms; a White Pearl Bar & Lounge and a Black Pearl
Bar & Lounge and a 38-seat roof top lounge with both indoor
and outdoor seating options.
