McDonald’s Qatar takes fans on nostalgic trip with new campaign


The new McDonald’s Qatar campaign introduces a limited-time ‘As Featured In’ meal, starring menu items famously referenced in pop culture. From classic films and binge-worthy comedies to hit songs and anime series, McDonald’s has been featured in pop culture for decades. 

The new campaign sees McDonald’s Qatar drop the ‘As Featured In Meal’ across all 74 of its restaurant branches. The meal includes a choice of 9-piece Chicken McNuggets, Quarter Pounder with Cheese or Big Mac Sandwich along with World Famous Fries, a limited-time ‘Loki’ Sweet ‘N Sour Sauce, and a soft drink.

The As Featured In campaign will run across all McDonald’s Qatar stores until September 10. 

By scanning the QR code featured on the exclusive As Featured In Meal packaging, fans can enjoy a visual treat of the various scenes that the menu item appeared in over the years. Additionally, when they scan the lid of the Loki Sweet ‘N Sour Sauce on Snapchat, fans can unlock a sneak peek of the upcoming Marvel Studios’ Loki Season 2, presented in a themed Augmented Reality (AR) experience.

McDonald’s has also partnered with PALACE - a London-based skateboarding and clothing brand that has featured McDonald’s across its disruptive, witty designs and skate videos – for custom merchandise. Via the QR code on their As Featured In Meal, fans can gain access to exclusive PALACE MCDONALD’S merchandise, available to purchase online.
