An interesting and rare opportunity for Qatar foodies. Its an expensive affair but then you don't get a chance to taste Alba White Truffle everyday. Personally I am not much of a fan of truffles but I guess the difficulty in spotting them scores over the flavour and explains the exorbitant price.
Italian restaurant Il Teatro at Four Seasons Hotel Doha will be having a limited edition menu from November 7 till stocks last with Tartufo Bianco d’Alba (Alba White Truffle), known as the ‘diamond of the kitchen’.
This truffle is very rare and has a very distinct flavour and a special four-course menu is created by Chef Aldo Cadau for dinner.
They promise to have an antipasti of soft poached egg, asparagus, truffle polenta and whole wheat crouton, a primi (first-course) of truffle risotto, a secondi (second-course) of truffle duck breast with accompaniments and a dolci (dessert) featuring a combination of poached pear and almond tart, white chocolate truffle ice cream and orange blossom honey.
The dinner is priced QR500 and QR700 depending on what you want to drink. With wine it will cost more and the drink and truffle are of limited quantity. You need more you pay more...
The dinner will kick off at 8pm and three chefs will freshly shave the truffle at the table of each guest.
